At Saimon's Astronomy, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Moon Phase Widget mobile application ("the App") and our website (https://www.saimons-astronomy.com).

1. Information We Collect

To provide and improve our services, we may collect the following types of information:

  • Voluntarily Provided Data: Information you provide to us directly, such as your email address if you contact support or create an account.

  • Automatically Collected Data: This includes Device ID, IP address, operating system version, and usage statistics (e.g., features used, time spent in the app).

  • Sensitive Permissions: If you grant permission, the App may access your Location (to provide local celestial data) or Camera (for Augmented Reality features). We do not store or share your camera feed.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data to:

  • Operate and maintain the App's core astronomical features.

  • Improve user experience through anonymized analytics.

  • Communicate with you regarding technical updates or support requests.

3. Third-Party Services & SDKs

We work with third-party service providers to help us operate. These third parties may collect data on our behalf:

  • Google Play Services / Firebase: For app performance monitoring and analytics.

  • AdMob: To show advertisements. You can opt-out of personalized ads in your Android device settings.

     

4. Data Deletion & Account Removal

(Mandatory Google Requirement)

We believe you should have full control over your data.

  • In-App Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated personal data directly within the App’s Settings menu.

  • Web-Based Request: If you have uninstalled the App or cannot access it, you may request full data deletion by visiting: https://www.saimons-astronomy.com/about.

  • Data Retention: Upon request, we will delete all personal data unless we are legally required to retain it for tax, fraud prevention, or regulatory purposes.

5. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover such data has been collected, we will delete it immediately.

6. International Compliance (GDPR & CCPA)

  • EEA/UK Users (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data. You may also object to processing.

  • California Users (CCPA/CPRA): As of 2026, you have the right to know what data we collect, opt-out of the "sale or sharing" of your data, and request historical access to data collected since January 1, 2022. We do not "sell" your personal data to third parties.

We use industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) to protect your data during transmission. While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
