We are excited to announce that the latest versions of Collimation Circles (4.1.x and 5.x) now feature dedicated support for ZWO ASI cameras! This significant update enhances our Electronically Assisted Collimation (EAC) tool, helping astronomers achieve "near perfect" telescope alignment with ease.
What’s New?
The biggest highlight is the direct integration of ZWO ASI cameras. This allows you to use your camera's live stream as a background directly within the app, providing a seamless way to overlay collimation patterns on real-time data. To support these new features and ensure future-proof performance, the application has been updated and is now built with .NET 10.
Key Features & Tools
Collimation Circles continues to offer a powerful suite of tools to maximize your telescope's performance:
- Customizable Patterns: Adjust circles, spiders, clips, and screws to perfectly match your optical path, including the focuser tube and mirrors.
- Precision Refinement: Use the "screws helper" to identify exactly which physical adjustment needs to be made.
- Bahtinov Mask Support: Achieve the sharpest possible focus with the integrated Bahtinov pattern overlay.
- Profile Management: Save and load your specific telescope configurations as JSON files.
Cross-Platform Testing
Thanks to the modern .NET 10 and AvaloniaUI framework, the application is highly portable. We encourage all users to test this new ZWO ASI support across all supported platforms:
- Windows 10 & 11 (x64 and arm64)
- Linux (including Ubuntu 22.04 and Raspberry Pi OS)
- macOS
